Interview about last year's show

Descriptions of my designs:
The first piece, is a women's couture creation. It is inspired by the unconventional amalgamations of Hans Bellmer’s sketches, combining the spirit of elegance with lusty undertones. The top began innocent enough as a velour vest, but when it came under the influence of the sequined lacey detail debauchery ensued. Held together tenuously with leather straps across the back it has become unclear which is bound to which. Beneath this harmonious power-struggle lies a very delicate garter belt with gossamer nylons hanging intertwined around the legs.

The second piece is a reconstructed pinstriped suit puzzled together like Bellmer’s dolls. The billowy legs converge with the jackets amputated cuffs holding tight to the ankles while the tops diverging pinstripes convey a refined chaos. Around the neck a gaudy faux-gold chain holds the image of a young and unrequited love, the shame of whose rejection bound the man to forever obscure his identity behind the nylon mask.

  1. This sounds really interesting. I live in new orleans as well. Is there a cover for the show?
